Teachers at Charlo Junior High dedicate on a daily basis to improve students' abilities any possible way they can. Although education may not always be of top importance to all staff and students because of athletics, the better portion of the community that surrounds the school works tirelessly day and night to ensure good educational experiences for everyone. However, as most school communities do, there are favored members of the public that typically are on the receiving ends of attention more than others. To truly build the Charlo community to its full potential, everyone needs to be included and not discriminated or judged against to any extent. Therefore, Charlo needs to patch up all of the unseen holes made by injustice from cliques. Other than a few small inconveniences, Charlo School as a whole improves students' lives and continues to be one of the best schools in its rural area.
Sports were great and I truly loved being a part of the team but it wasn't worth it. The coaches chose favorites and some players were even physically and verbally abused by their coaches myself included. The sports in this school are good but they don't provide the overall experience a high school student should have before they leave. I wished my experience was better after my sophomore year. I wouldn't come back to this school even though I grew up with all of my fellow students. There is too much dirt sitting with everyone and the teachers, coaches, and staff are not great people although some have proven to be very wonderful in the best of ways. I would not allow my child to grow up in the environment that Charlo possesses with bullying, drugs, drinking, and unfair treatment to students.
The school is a good school however being so small has its setbacks. Most teachers do well in their classes more so in the high school than in the middle school. Middle school is an overall awful experience in Charlo. The kids are bullies and the teachers don't do anything to prevent bullying. We have many non bullying speeches a year although they are rendered useless because our teachers are bullies at times as well, especially a high ranking school employee. He feels the need to tear down kids and it is very inappropriate. I don't feel the teachers do so good in that aspect of middle school. The classes are good and fun. The teachers know how to mix it up but the hardest part is that the teachers pick favorites severely. In a town like Charlo, everything is about the last name. If you have the right last name, then you're okay but if not then don't get excited about something because it is likely you won't get in or get chosen. I have learned a lot from this school and realized that it isn't so great and doesn't live up to the great standards it should.
