I have been in the Baldwinsville schools since Kindergarten… Coming to Baker High with the group I grew up with was the absolute best ! I got to play football with my best friends and under the absolute best coaching staff. The school community , The BEES! Is unlike many other local high schools and I feel so blessed I was able to live out my high school years here at Charles W Baker High in Baldwinsville NY.
I think CW Baker has extensive programs as far as music and sports, but I’d like to see more as far as science and mental health resources and awareness. I think Baker is sorely lacking in understanding of students’ mental health crises. However, the general atmosphere of the school is essentially laid-back and understanding, with many opportunities for students to connect with each other and their teachers. Culture clubs definitely help with this.
Overall a fairly good school to attend. Most of my teachers have been supportive, bright, and effective educators. We lack in diversity, and our administration higher up on the chain can be sketchy. Academics is prioritized and many students attend college after the conclusion of high school, but we also have great athletic teams with supportive students and phenomenal music and arts programs and clubs. The school isn’t anything to brag about but it’s a decent environment to attend school in.
