I liked Charles B. Aycock, because the school made me feel safe, even with everything that has happened at other schools. I like it because they give us many options for classes to sign up for and mostly every time you get the classes you wanted. I also like some teachers there, like my English teacher during Sophomore year, she really did care about her students, she made class really fun, I remember just her being really happy and she loves teaching. I also really liked it because you never really saw any bullying or people picking up fights on the spot, everyone knew each other, and it kind of just felt like a bag family. Also how they still have us a bit of time to socialize, especially during lunch. Overall the school is pretty great.
I'm so grateful that I moved here to get the opportunity to attend this school! I am now more than prepared for college, also with attending the community college, Wayne Community. My academic career has completely soared because of the great teachers that work there. The school goes out of their way to make sure we all understand everything that has happened.
Charles B. Aycock, like any other facility is a popularity contest and a political hardship. For someone who is very mixed, and has no specific race that will accept them it was hard to blend in with their culture being in the deep south. I faced adversity every day and altercations based on different point of views and physical appearance compared to every one else. This place created tough skin for myself and prepared me to step out into the real world where things get even worse. Academically I was not challenged to my full capability, North Carolina education is not known for greatness. The cafeteria is segregated into blacks, whites, popularity, nerds, and hispanics. The teachers vary tremendously when it comes to teaching their students and their is no process in place to ensure every student to succeed nor do most of them care if you're a high school graduate or if you make it past a high school education.
