I enjoyed the math and science teachers. The sports are amazing! The english department could be improved especially reading and sentence structure for writing. Having a seminar course to illustrate varied college majors would be helpful. With all the varied professions in the triangle, parents allowing students to visit and learn about their place of work would help students decide on their college majors. The high school buildings need to be renovated but that is planned for next year!

I love this high school! There are definitely a few things that need to get fixed. Such as the quality of our Principal and her drive to help students and not just put on a show that only looks good in the trailers, if you know what I mean. Our facilities are pretty run down and not up to many students' standards, including mine. The buildings have rumored asbestos in the ceiling tiles and it seems that every other day the heat or the A/C is out in one of the buildings. For some of the successes of the school, Our arts departments are some of the best, everyone is super involved in it too! As a visual arts student, I believe that this department has impacted every student at CHHS. Being a student at CHHS is truly a privilege, with some of the best academic success in the state, college readiness, and wonderful teachers, I feel that I have gotten one of the best high school educations out there.
Overall the experience at the school was a decent one. Obviously in the area the education is pretty good and the atmosphere is pretty serious and competitive in a way. It's considered the norm to take difficult AP and Honors classes which can promote hard work and of course with more difficult classes being take, the school will perform better as a whole. Some of the administrative rules are a bit arbitrary and pointless, but your experience just depends on what teachers you get. Often times you will get a teacher that really works well with you and your learning style or the complete opposite. Some of the drawbacks at being at such an academically focused and high performing school is that grades matter more than quality of learning. There are many school wide events to participate in or attend, and there is a wide extra curricular and sports available.
