I am a current 9th grader at Chapel Hill Chauncy Hall, and my experience here has been one of a kind. The teachers welcome all students with open arms and a bright attitude. The classes are very small and with that teachers are more focused on their students, making sure everyone understands what is being taught in the classroom. My year here has been filled with experiences I will never forget, and I cannot wait until my sophomore year to gain more memories with the school!

As a parent of a daughter who transferred to CHCH as a sophomore, we could not be more please with the "fit" that we found. Now a junior, our daughter is thriving academically, socially, and emotionally. Simply put, CHCH cares about the complete student. While holding student accountable academically and socially, teachers and support staff really know each student and tailor communication so that messages can be received in a positive manner. The commitment to reach every student in an individual way is real. From instruction to communication to college prep, every part of CHCH is about how kids learn best...as individuals.
CHCH was recommended for me while I was tackling moderate anxiety in middle school. I've always taken school very seriously and was disheartened by some of the community's flaws. I thought the school showed a lack of discipline of students. In turn, students were far more open with behavior that they'd otherwise try to hide (drinking and smoking). I was aware that these problems were present at many high schools, but I was upset with how "in my face" it was at CHCH. I transferred to another prep school after my sophomore year. While it remained true that these are issues that all high schools face, I found that my new school allowed me to focus on my work without seeing these problems. I am now in college and look back at my two years at CHCH with mixed views; while I had some incredible teachers who I'll be forever thankful for, I was also very disappointed with the atmosphere that the school created.
