I joined Star Charter School (recently renamed Chaparral Star Academy) halfway through my 7th grade after homeschooling for all of my elementary education. I am now a junior, and although I can't exactly compare my experience to any other school, I can say that it has been great. For the most part, the teachers are what makes this school what it is. They are great at their job, care for their students, and thrive in the condensed time frame that they are given. I've met some great friends here, and I can even call many of my teachers friends. How often does that happen? I would definitely choose this school again if I had the misfortune of having to repeat my educational career over.
As of right now, there are only three after school activities at my school. The middle school history teacher instructs a martial arts class that I participate in. There is a pep squad, which is just cheer, and last but not least, there is the National Oceans Science Bowl, or NOSB. This group is the pride of our school, and Kris Barnett is the leader. They meet two times a week, and students put in large amounts of time to do their best in the competition.
