I transferred to Chaparral my sophomore year of high school after having trouble fitting in at my public high school. I enjoyed my time at Chaparral, benefitting from the drama-free environment, small class sizes, and the teachers' ability to bring their dogs to school. In addition, teachers truly care for and get to know their students. The school day only lasts 4 hours, with the curriculum more rigorous and more homework assigned. However, it would have been nice if more clubs were offered.
I attended Chaparral Star Academy starting from fourth grade until graduating high school and genuinely enjoyed my time there. The class size has a smaller teacher to student ratio compared to public schools so we were able to have a more hands-on education. The students are so friendly and helpful and became my family as most of us stayed at the school for many years. The school was only four hours in the morning which allowed me to take dual credit classes in the afternoon at the local community college. The only thing I would change would be adding more music, art classes, clubs, and activities. But overall I highly recommend this school!
Chaparral Star Academy has allowed and helped give me the potential to grow into a better student and individual. With passionate and helpful teachers who continuously push students to be the best possible versions of themselves and classmates who are passionate about school and extracurricular activities, Chaparral Star Academy creates an atmosphere of excellence.
