Chaparral High School is a fun and social environment that I have enjoyed throughout high school. There are many class options to choose from as well as school clubs so participating and gaining extracurriculars is easy here! One thing that I dislike about Chaparral is that I was discouraged from taking honors courses during my freshman year. While I shouldn't have listened to the discouragement, it did not hold me back from reaching my full academic capacity. A majority of the teachers that I have had have been extremely welcoming and helpful and I am very grateful for that. Teachers who are willing to take extra time to assist you in whatever assignment you need help on are pivotal to a student's success. Chaparral has had problems with vaping and vandalism, just like most schools in America at the moment, but the administration is working hard to combat them. As a senior, I am proud to say that I am graduating from Chaparral High School.

Overall, Chaparral has given me an amazing high school experience. Some of the teachers are truly amazing and genuinely care about one's success within their class. On the other hand, there are a few teachers who are outright train wrecks. Even though these emotionally unstable teachers are rare at this school, they truly do have the power to ruin one's day. Besides that, Chaparral has very kind students who are welcoming to all!
I started my Freshman year of high school after moving to Arizona from Washington state. The classes were fun and challenging, and I got my first experience with Honors programs. During my Junior year, we had new administration due to our previous principal's retirement. This new administration was extremely disliked, and tended to be self-centered, which made events miserable. However, they were replaced the following year! Senior year so far has been great, and the environment is much better. However, class sizes are huge (35 to 45 kids in some classes), which makes learning difficult sometimes. The school also looks like a prison, with locked gates and vertical bars on the stairways and block-like gray, concrete buildings. That fact usually fades away as you get used to it, but in the case of my Junior year, it combined horribly with the hated administration, and really made me dread going to school some days. Regardless, I have enjoyed my time at Chaparral High School overall.
