Overall, Chaparral High School is an excellent school. The staff is amazing, students are engaged in classes, and the environment is friendly. If there was one thing I could suggest a change about, it would be the curriculum. With my experience, I struggled in math, and it was difficult to receive additional help. Chaparral pushes harder curriculum on their students than other Douglas County schools, and I believe its unfair. Colleges don't look at the applicants high school curriculum, just the grades the student received. Otherwise, I had a great experience at Chaparral High School.

I overall really enjoyed my time at Chaparral. The school culture is amazing, and everybody seems to live under the motto "Chap Fam; We take care of one another" It is embodied heavily at games, assemblies, and special events such as homecoming week, wish week, and graduation/senior goodbyes. Academics at Chaparral are very good, and most teachers are willing to drop anything to help if needed and will work with you to reach a common goal. I would enjoy seeing administration loosen up restrictions at things like sporting games but this has only become an issue in recent years.
The best thing about Chaparral High School is the "Chap Fam." It is not just an idea, but it is absolutely alive and enacted by most students, especially the upperclassmen who willingly helps and supporta the underclassmen. Also, whenever there is an event, the student body never fail to support the games or fundraisings. There are also organizations such as Link Crew, National Honora Society, Spanish Honors Society, Writing Tutors, etc., that help and support the needs of the students, academically, socially, and emotionally. Chaparral embodies not just a school, but a family filled with love.
