The thing I like about Chanute High school is that the teachers try their hardest to make it a safe place for everyone. The principals take in what you recommend and talk about it at the school meetings. The school tries to make it fun like doing spirit weeks, they let us go on college tours, and do off school activities. The school board makes it to where people feel as if they belong there. They have many clubs for different things. The food is good and we have a couple options everyday and we get a second chance breakfast almost everyday. They bring guest speakers in to talk to everyone, the last guest speaker they brought in talked about self awareness. The teachers teach everything pretty good and if you don't understand it they always try their hardest to help you. They let you leave for college classes and some of the college classes in the building. If you do well in school and have good grades you can leave for open lunch. Every last Wednesday of the month we get out early,
Chanute High School is a I think above average. The Teachers are excellent allowing time to help and teach you if you don't understand a subject. The clubs and sports are probably the best thing about the school and allow kids to get involved and make new friends and that makes the sports and clubs so unique would be the involvement of the parents that donate their time to make sure every kid gets the best experience Possible. The resources are amazing and because we are allowed to use them makes us better students such as the calculators the math department lets us use, we can ever barrow them to take the ACT. The weight lifting room is almost comparable to a collage with all new lifting equipment to get us strong and healthy. The Math department is probably the best in the school as one teacher (Eric Holmes) is very good at math and lose to teach students. My experience at the high school is excellent and as being there for 4 years there is nothing I would change.
As a student, the teacher are very helping. They are also super compassionate. The overall school environment is clean and a great one to be in. The different academics programs are also a great because they are based off what students want their career to be when they get older. There are also a lot of different clubs and activities that any student can joi.
