Challenger School - Ardenwood Reviews

this campus is amazing, i don't know what people mean by the corporate as a dictator, overall, the teachers can really relate and communicate with the children, and act more as friends towards the students, while still helping them have good grades.
Challenger has an amazing academic program. It teaches several grades ahead yet the curriculum is easy to understand for students.
Overall they teach a high level of education but Challenger's approaches teaching as if it is a fascism. Corporate is dictator in which at a young age attempt to brainwash you to with their "challenger values" and try to make you blindly follow and support challenger. Overall, my experience from preschool to 6th grade at challenger has been more like a disciplinary military camp than a school. Mostly due to the laziness of the substitute teachers that are in charge during lunch. They make you walk in a perfectly straight line without any talking. Main teachers expect your child to sit there listening like a robot. They are not open to suggestions and treat clients like peasants in a dictatorship. If you express an opinion that doesn't conform with challenger values you will be sent to the principal. The diversity is 65% Indian 30% Chinese and 5% miscellaneous. Some of your experience depends on your teacher. The list goes on and on but this school is unnecessary trauma for your child.
I just saw this message in my feed that said: Why you should go to Challenger School Ardenwood? It prompted me to write a message to all who might be considering the school. DO NOT go to Challenger! ANY Challenger. As someone who had spent the best years of my life teaching at this school and as a parent of Challenger students I can tell you first hand this is one school to avoid. You can try it but the regret and high cost of mental and physical illness that will follow for life will be too late to undo. There are many options, do not settle, do not get lured by their promises, do not get sucked in by the low price, do not believe anything of what they have on paper. Run!
Academics: Math thorough, gets very difficult in middle school. Science is excellent but again gets hard in middle school. Literature/ grammar are extremely good. Students very well educated in these two- level is higher than most schools. Geography/ social studies is well taught. Too much homework and tests to the point where the child doesn't have time for anything else. Too much work make sure it is right for your child, otherwise they might get too strict. Activities: apart from middle school they don't care much about those. they have excellent after care though. Diversity is made up of Indians and Chinese. College readiness very high, only if applying for academics. No group projects, social skills sometimes lack for difficult people. Safety: amazing but bullying isn't properly taken care of. Becomes a problem in middle school. Food: Excellent. Much variety, very high quality. Healthier than most schools. Parent involvement is extremely high.
The academic environment was very rigorous and prepared me for the huge workloads I faced later on. The school prepared me especially well in mathematics and the sciences with heavy emphasis on problem solving skills.
