Central Valley High school focuses on the students, by encouraging them to participate in extracurricular and by implementing CP classes. The security should improve to prevent students from bringing and using drugs. Also, the free food is not nutritious, good, or enough.
The teachers are super on top of all the grade and prepare you for college. The staff are real y good at keeping peace, and the campus is very diverse, so no one feels isolated.
I have have a good experience attending Central Valley. I like that the teachers and staff are passionate about their jobs and truly want all of the students here to succeed. I don't have very many complaints, except there are a few rules about dress code that I don't agree with and some policies could be better.
The campus is very clean and offers a variety of academic opportunities. All the staff are incredibly friendly and always have student success as their highest priority. In spite of having over 2,000 students, each student is given the attention needed. AP courses and tests are paid for by the school as well, ensuring all students, regardless of economic situation, have the opportunity demonstrate their skill.
Majority of my Freshman and Sophomore year I was very involved and maybe a little too much, because there were so many students there were so many clubs. Its goof that were so many options but because there were so many options I didn't know what to get involved in. They do focus extremely on College readiness there were workshops for to help fill out our financial aid, they would take us to trips to visit colleges and universities, and they were very involved in your graded if they saw a sudden change in your grades they would have you called up to see how you are doing and what they can do to help.
Central Valley High School is very organized and always makes resources available for students and staff. Lots of clubs are offered for students to join that cover different topics such as Interact club, which encourages students to be involved in the community, and NAMI club, which helps to give students dealing with mental health an outlet and a way to help spread awareness. Although I have encountered some teachers that weren't always helpful with the material being taught, most of the teachers are very helpful and patient with the students and work hard to help them succeed.
Out of my four years at Central Valley high school I was able to create many bonds with most of my teachers and met so many knew friends and people who I call my brothers. I always loved playing sports even though our school isn't the best team compared to many of the other sports based schools. However, I was able to enjoy my time playing sports and having a diversity of friends and coaches between all the sports I've played. The academics is pretty good in my opinion I was very well prepared for college and got to know many of my teachers. The main downside I had at this school was with covid because of how different the teaching is and how us as students aren't really learning as good or nearly as good as we would be in classes.
Overall I think it is a good school. Amazing teacher and they are very helpful at times. They do need more diversity and more classes with foreign languages because all they offer is spanish and portuguese. The students are something else at times too.
During my time at Central Valley high school I feel that I was challenged well enough and assisted when I needed help. The teachers were great and willing to work with you if you needed tutoring without hesitation. When it comes to diversity there really isn't vary much because most of the students were latino. The food at the school wasn't the greatest but it was good enough to ge through the day feeling fine. Overall though the school is a great place to be because of how much they prepare you for college but the food is really the only downside which is to be expected.
Great teachers. Counselors help the students get ready for college. The students are kind and create a great atmosphere. A student is able to feel unified with their peers because they show great hawk pride. All students are college-ready because the faculty pour this ideology into students knowing that they can go to college. Safe school and they have great activities for students to be apart of.
The campus is beautiful its clean, and the majority of students there are nice. The passing rate is high and teachers are good.
The students at Central Valley are very friendly, but they tend to remain within their own friend groups, so you don't see much "mixing" between friend groups. However, the students, primarily the upperclassmen are always the epitome of school spirit, which makes the atmosphere of the school so much more enjoyable.
The staff at Central Valley are nice and most of the time are eager to help any student. They are not afraid to come up and ask you if you're shy. The teachers are always helpful and kind, all the workers try their best in helping students to get them ready for college especially in taking the time to set up workshops and sometimes mandatory meetings with students aiding them in signing up for colleges and financial aid.
My four year experience at Central Valley High School was great. They campus was well kept and all the staff made you feel as if you were part of one big family. Some teachers became my idols while some became great friends, and the coaches of the sports I participated in made me feel welcome and pushed me to be my best self, both academically and physically. The counselors there provided me with tons of support for my future and gave me information that I used to get into the four year university that I will be attending. I will never forget that school and the memories it gave me. GO HAWKS!
The administrators and teachers really care about the students for the most part. But many of the students don't really care to be there which can be a hindrance on those that do. However, school is what you make of it and I had a great time here. The food need drastic improvement, though.
I would say that the school lunch is fantastic. There's a ton of different options for students, and it's really accomodating to different needs and tastes. When it comes to teaching, there are severe weak spots in several departments. I would say coming out of this school I have absolutely no understanding of chemistry. And a lot of the material in other classes I ended up having to teach myself.
The counselors are very engaged with the students and make sure that every student is on track to graduate as well as prepared for the real world.
