I loved going to a small school. I got to know many of the teachers on a personal level, and the other students in my class honestly felt like brothers and sisters. On the flip side, going to a small school means less opportunities and options, whether that be for classes, lunch, or teachers. I felt very ill-prepared for my degree when I went to college. The tech/media/math classes are especially weak, and unfortunately that is what area I pursued. The English and science however was amazing! The administration also likes to act as if they run some major big city school, when in reality it's just a 200-kid k-12 country school. They need to step off their high horse and realize how amazing the teachers are and that they deserve to be paid more .
But I wouldn't have wanted to go to any other school and will always look back on my high school years with fond memories. Though it has its disadvantages, Central Valley was an amazing school with an awesome atmosphere.

Since the cooperative with Hillsboro, ND, Central Valley sports has become a thing of the past. Very few of our students play sports anymore, and Hillsboro dictates most things. The few of us that do cling on to our past fight for it by continuing to participate, which gives us a purpose other than winning.
Awesome school?? Great teachers and faculty. My kids have learned so much in that school since moving from grand forks.
