I like how all of the staff members are close and they try to make school fun for the students. However, I would like to see a difference in how they make decisions regarding the student body. The staff like to sweep things under the rug and downplay incidents when it's supposed to be a big deal. For instance, our school had a situatoin where a student wrote scary things on the wall of a bathroom, mentioning that they were going to bring a gun into the school with a date (which was the next day). My friend and I were the ones to find it and took a picture to show the teachers because it had us shaken up. My friend and I sent the picture out to as many friends as we could to tell them what was happening. Soon, everybody knew about it and was wondering what the school was going to do. The school didn't do anything other than find the person who did it which took a couple days (by then the date of the said shooting was already passed). I just wish that they would've been more cautious.
My high school experience is anything typical of a small town school. Full of drama and bullying, but unity is something that has been focused on as of lately. I enjoy the connections with teachers and how the small town comes together for sporting events and celebrations.
I'm very happy that my teachers are determined to help me succeed. Whenever I have a question, they always do their best to answer it! I love participating in extracurriculars after school and being able to hang out with my friends.
