I LOVE Central. Being as though I would like to attend an HBCU, coming straight from a historically black high school really helps! Nearly all our teachers and administrators are alumni of Central, since they spent time at Central as a student and want to come back to work? Really shows that Central is THE place to be.

In general I love my school. But like any other establishment there are things that could be better. The funding over the entire school is not where it should be we struggle to get lots of things updated compared to other schools in our district. We have a surplus of teachers and students. Being a historically black high school we have strong African American history however the rest of the diversity within the school still shines with Asian Student Union, Hispanic Student Union, and African Student Association. We have great love and respect for our Alums who come back on a regular basis to visit their magnets. We have Medical, Business, Law, and STEM magnets that strive to prepare us for college and give us insights into college but also prepare us for work outside of school.
Starting off at Central I was very nervous coming in all because I didn’t know what to expect. Just one month into school I had lots of friends and was enjoying my experience. The teachers were very nice and the classes had a challenge. Every student was willing to help one another throughtout the hallways and weighing the classroom. You’re given the chance to become apart of a magnet with business, law, sports marketing, nursing, dentistry and even vet. The school obtains so many opportunities to become successful in your next step up in life and higher education. Although Central can be serious about their work just like any school should but, Central also knows how to have a great time. I enjoyed my high school experience at the one and only historically black high school, Central High In Louisville, KY and would love to do it again!
