The school has alot of great programs. However, there has been many times i've walked down the hall or was on the bus and weed filled the air. There are a good amount of students rude and disrespectful. I would only recommend coming to this school if you are in I.B/French immersion or AP classes. From my experience, I.B classes get a better learning experience. There was one point where the school had like 15 long term subs. I.B students are required to have a teacher so you would not experience this in core classes most likely if you were in I.B. However in a few of my elective classes, I did have a long term sub. Quality of education varies alot depending on if you are in general ED or an advanced program.
My overall experience at my high school was really good. I enjoyed being surrounded by teachers and administrators that cared a lot about our education and wanted to make sure that our entire class succeeded. I also enjoyed participating in school events such as spirit week, dress down days, and more. Even though I loved my high school, their are a few things that I would want to change. I would include more school counselors to be able to help more students at once. I would also want the teachers to give students more time to take notes and study in school especially before exams because a lot of students may need more help than others to complete their work and also for the students that play sports and need more time to gain information on what everyone is learning in school.
As a student of Central High School, I managed to always make honor roll and gain good time management. I was provided with helpful teachers who cared about my success, but would not hesitate to give a bad grade had I miss an assignment. I had caring counselors who made sure I stayed on top of work while maintaining a positive mindset as well. However, I would respectfully recommend more training for some teachers lacking in classroom management. I have witnessed several teachers be disrespected in their own classrooms and have done nothing to handle the disrespect. The time students take to disrespect takes away from a lesson that could benefit students in the future. Overall, I've had a very good experience personally at this school because I was able to grow mentally and physically while helping others in the progress. I am so grateful that the staff at Central High School has turned me into a leader that many underclassmen can rely on.
