It has been an overall fun and interesting four years at central, it may not be perfect but it has opened a lot of doors for me.
There are many things that Central Hardin High School excels at. The majority - if not all - of the teachers at Central Hardin are involved in student learning and offer help when needed. Communication between teachers and students also occur often, especially during online teaching in order to ensure understanding. Safety is a priority here as well with frequent drills and assertiveness from teachers when needed. Administration often assists in keeping everything organized and keeping everybody informed on opportunities and possibilities in and out of the school as well. Despite this there are also some things that need work. In comparison to other schools Central Hardin does not have much diversity. This may be due to the normal demographic of Kentucky which has many more white people in comparison to other races there are occasional situations where people of other races or cultural backgrounds may feel uncomfortable. But as years pass by inclusion and diversity are increasing.
The teachers are great and the students are friendly. I have made some great memories here that I will never forget.
Central Hardin is a great school. They have many options for academics, clubs, sports, and career pathway options. However, they do not deal with issues with the students very well. They push the students' feelings aside when making decisions.
I have enjoyed my time at Central Hardin. I think they have plenty of opportunities for everyone in all the different career pathways. The teachers and faculty are great and always there to help. The academics are great and there are plenty of classes for everyone. One thing I would change though is most likely the food. I think the food could be a little better and could have more of a variety.
Inside of Central Hardin lies teachers who work their 9 to 5 just to relax on the weekend. It is never the student's job to teach themselves the content, however, this became the sad reality. The teachers are not optimistic to come to their jobs and in turn, the students have no interest in learning the content. On the positive side, Central Hardin has the most impressive school spirit. Sports are a major part of the Bruin identity
I really like the staff at Central Hardin. There was never a time that I thought my school was not available to help me. If I needed assistance there were plenty of counselors, principles, teachers, etc to listen.
Most of the faculty and staff are pretty nice with the exception of a few grouchy people. Everyone does their job and does their thing, causing no general issues.
My Senior year has been trying. We haven't been to school very much so far. I hope we get to go back to in person soon!
Central Hardin is a very good public school. We have this period of time called “ power hour “ which is a hour of lunch, getting tutoring, hanging with friends, or whatever you want. They care about what we have to say and how we feel as a group of students
Very good staff, lots of options for electives and college programs. Excellent sports programs. Very large school with newer facilities. Located in a very nice area.
This is 4th year attending this school and I love this school. It has the best teachers. They are understanding and caring. The resource office on campus is awesome and will always help you out. He makes the school feel safe.
The teachers always treated students well, there was always a high spirit in Central. The football games made everyone so close, and there is so much school spirit. I enjoyed my four years at Central Hardin, and I am now watching my three younger siblings graduate, and complete their grade levels at CHHS.
The faculty were typically very helpful and open. My boyfriend is transgender and he dealt with plenty of bullying for this while in school, but whenever the administrators could do anything to help, they did. The only issues that come to mind at the moment are two teachers that the students and faculty alike agree are terrible at their jobs. Despite even the administration agreeing, the teachers continue to poorly educate students. One of them had been given unimportant classes such as Kentucky Studies or World Mythology, but the other taught important math classes such as pre-calculus and the time I was in her class was very difficult as I felt I was learning much less than I did from the other pre-calculus teacher.
I like the many types of food you can have at Central Hardin. They have sandwiches, burgers, salads, pizza, chinese, mexican, greek, and many more types of foods. It has power hour, which is one hour during the school day where students can eat lunch, hang out with friends, and/or get help from teachers.
It was very nice overall! I loved all of my teachers, and although classes were hard at times, it was nice! I met some of the best friends I could ever have, and me going into illustration the art classes were amazing! A few problems I had was that there wasn't much diversity at the school. The teachers and staff were very well with making the kids that were different feel welcomed, but some of the fellow students on the other hand were not that welcoming. But everyone isn't the same! So I say that though some kids weren't accepting, that's only a reflection of who they really are. I had a very nice experience at Central. I learned a lot, made a ton of friends and memories that I will never forget! I would only recommend that they pay more attention to the arts rather that spending all of their time on the sports. It seemed in my last two years or so at Central they were trying to show more attention to the arts though!
I have had the most ideal high school experience. I had some bad days and some good days just like I would anywhere else but considering the horror stories I have heard about other peoples high school experience I would say I have it pretty good.
