I have been attending New Tech for all four years of my high school career. My sister was apart of the first graduating class and they had the opportunity to give lots of student input. Everyday at New Tech is so much fun and I actually like attending because it inspires me to want to learn. I now know from going their that I want to be a business owner one day and would never have realized that passion without the schools help! I have really enjoyed my high school experience there and will be sad to leave after this year (senior year), but feel extremely college ready.

New Tech is a very different high school! It is not your tyipcal teacher gives a lecture about a topic and you takes on it and are expected to memorize the lesson for a quiz. Instead, teachers present you with a problem and leaves you and your team to come up with the most effective and creative solution. At the end of each project you have an oppertunity to show community member what you have been working on. The school wide learning out comes of my school are collaboration, agency, written communiction, oral communication, and knowledge and thinking. Each class here is design with rigorous work to prepare all students in the school for college. Facilitators and students also agree to follow a pledge and norms inside and out of school to represent CCNTH in the best way possible.
I'm so glad I came to this school. We're well integrated to Nipomo High School, most notably the Co-school improv troupe and Nipomo Drama program. The culture varies but there is a strong feeling of comfort that comes from the small population. This encourages student to be themselves, there's not much focus on popularity because nobody is better than anyone else. Academics: the project-based learning approach is very effective and stimulating, and encourages collaboration and creativity. Not much choice in classes, however, which can be frustrating but you have the option of taking cuesta/hancock classes on the side. There are no AP classes (no pressure there), there are resources available to take the AB Calc and Physics tests.
