My overall experience at CB South has been good. When I first arrived in 10th grade, I was overwhelmed by the school's sheer size. Coming from a one-floor middle school, it was definitely an adjustment to arrive at a three-floor high school, knowing I'd have to have the guts to face the intimidation each day.
Through the years, my fellow classmates and I grew accustomed to CB South's environment, its mentality, and its way of life. While there were clearly items that had room for improvement, my overall experience has been good.
CB South is a very good suburban school that provides its students with many great opportunities. Their food is not very good, but there are still different options. Students have access to great technology and knowledgeable teachers who are always willing to help. Things that I would like for to change would be more control over students vaping. Students vape in bathrooms and on buses all the time, and many are well aware of it, but not much is done to reprimand students. I understand it is hard to crack down on students because of how perverse vaping is, but the second-hand vaping sometimes gives me a headache. Another lofty idea would be year-round schooling to give students more breaks and allow students to retain more information instead of losing it over the summer. However, this seems like a too lofty idea to accomplish quickly.
