I absolutely loved CATA! I established friendships that I am confident I will keep for a lifetime! I was also given knowledge in the medical field to advance into college. Although, the reason for my 4-star rating is because some of the public schools in Union County began to emerge with much better medical programs where students left with a certificate, and CATA did not offer that which I felt made their academy less valuable. I also had a few issues with some math teachers, however; I overall loved my experience and would encourage any middle schools to apply! You'll have the time of your life!

I have been at Central Academy of Technology and Arts (CATA) for 3 years now and I am about to go into my senior year! These 3 years have been some of the best in my life. Not only does CATA have great academics (we were ranked a blue ribbon school) but a great atmosphere! Everybody is accepting and I truly believe that anyone can find their place here. CATA is also special because you enter a lottery to get into one of the academies which include the Medical academy, the Information Technology academy, the Engineering academy, the Auto Tech academy, and the Performing Arts academy. It is such a special high school experience and I am so glad I decided to send an application!
Central Academy is an academically focused school. Our test scores are the highest in the county and we rank in the state. Teachers are supportive of the students and go out of their way to ensure student success. Central Academy is an academy based school, meaning that we are divided into groups based on our career path and take specialized classes in that area. There is medical, theatre arts, engineering, automotive technology and more. These classes have put our students ahead of others by giving them a foundational knowledge for their future career. Central Academy is an amazing school and is a stepping stone into college for students by helping them excel early in their career path. This school is diverse, culturally and through the division of students into academies. It is centered on helping students succeed and grow throughout highschool and into their college career.
