Although Cedar Park lacks in diversity and struggles to keep teachers at the school, especially during the teaching crisis that we are currently experiencing, the classes help students learn the necessary material along with valuable life lessons, which is not something that every school in Austin area is doing right now. I personally believe that Cedar Park is one of the best high schools in area because there are so many opportunities for students to get involved - no matter who you are, there is a place for you to feel that you belong. Additionally, unlike many other larger schools around here, Cedar Park is far from overcrowded, making it easier to navigate the school and become involved in the many activities offered. For any families looking for a high school in an area that is becoming increasingly populated, Cedar Park is a great option!
Considering that I only went to this amazing school for a total of one year in total so far and how I am already graduating this year is absolutely incredible. If you find the right community for you, this school is an amazing place to be filled with so many supportive students, teachers, staff, etc. However, I would personally recommend joining the pals program due to the amazing teachers it is taught by as well as the supportive and welcoming students in the class with you. It is my first year in Pals along with other new faces and I feel like I have known our entire group for years. The program is filled with the kindest and big hearted people, and for this I am glad to be apart of it. I love this school as well as everything and everyone that comes with it!
My experience at this high school was good. The people is what makes this high school special.
Some of the things that stand out are the academics or sports achievements but what really stood out was the pride that this school had in all its activities. Even though this school will not always be the best at what is does, it always provide what it can give to students which is opportunities.
One thing I would change though is the scheduling format. Even though the school starts at 8:15 AM to 3:35 PM, I believe that the school start way earlier than that. My reason is because clubs, work, and other things that a high-schooler needs to take time in before graduating.
