I transferred here this year from one of the top public schools in Illinois and I love it here much better! The student body is half the size of my old school (2,000 vs 4,000) and I wasn’t sure if I was going to fit in and have friends. My English and Spanish teachers made me feel like I was at home, thanks to their support during that difficult time. My courses are difficult yet able to prepare me for college. I’m part of the choir, which is nationally recognized and hope to get into varsity next year, as well as Spanish Club. I was also in orchestra for a long time in Illinois and was sad that they don’t have a strings program. One thing I would like to change is the quality of the food. My old school has a “Mindful Meal” program that the students love. It’s healthy yet delicious, according to my friends over there. There was also “comfort food” like cheese sticks, pizza, chicken tenders, burgers, and shakes. Besides the food quality, it’s an amazing school!

My experience so far has been excellent! I've been blessed to know many kind peers, and great teachers, some of whom have become mentors. Most of the teachers are patient and kind, and the staff is also very friendly as well. I'm very blessed to surround myself in an environment where my peers take their academics very seriously, which motivates me as well to do well in school. The honor societies I'm involved in provide a perfect fit for anyone who enjoys community service, and the clubs at my school are excellent. The sports program is great as well if you want to get involved in athletics at CPHS.
I am currently a senior at CPHS and have lived here all my life. At my high school I have found that many of the teachers are so nice and really easy to work with. There are always times to get the extra help you may need in school, whether it be before, after, or during school. All of our counselors and AP's are amazing people and our principle is the best! I have never felt belittled from a class and have always felt welcomed by my school. I love it here!
