Cedar Grove was a school worth going to. It wasn’t the best school, but it taught me how to make the best of a bad situation. Cedar Grove, home to many great alumni, will forever be in my heart; due to the fact that I went there for four years. Met some friends that I will forever call my Brothers, and I won two state championships with. Cedar Grove is not very diverse. It’s majority a Black/ African American school, located in Ellenwood, Ga. I give props to all of the administrators and teachers, they truly tried there best to make it a student friendly school. The students wouldn’t allow it though. The students there could be rude, disrespectful, and have such hatred to treat there teachers a certain way. For that reason I couldn’t wait to graduate. All in all I will forever love Cedar Grove and will forever show Saint Pride!
For starters, if asked would I recommend this school to high school students of Dekalb county, I would likely answer "Not really". The school staff is not very in-touch with their neither the students nor staff, the school is not very good at organizing, and generally is just not that clean. However, would I go to any other school besides Cedar Grove High? Absolutely not! The relationships I made with students and faculty are priceless. The student culture is wonderful and I would not trade it for the world!
I just graduated c/o 2022. I honestly loved the school to a certain extent. Honestly the dress the can definitely change. Some students would literally come with inappropriate dressing. Which isn’t right. Along w the weapons. They need to do a weapons check. If these two things change that school would be a wonderful school. It’s like a family, the teachers care and they help through whatever you’re going through. The administration pay attention which is amazing so I definitely love them for that.
