Cecil D. Andrus Elementary School Reviews

Andrus Elementary has one of the few Gifted and Talented magnet programs in the State. It is an incredible program for those children that qualify. The award winning elementary music program is rare for our state. The music teacher is extraordinary and one of the best parts of the school. Andrus is also one of the few elementary schools that have an orchestra. The administration has had a great deal of turnover the past few years but, the teachers remain consistent for the most part. The parking lot is a bit difficult to maneuver. The school certainly could have been set up better geographically but the caring and loving staff makeup for that flaw. The PTA is top notch & parent involvement is high. After having 4 of my 5 children attend Andrus, I have found they are well prepared for the transition to middle school and beyond. Overall, I would highly recommend this school as a safe, welcoming, and educationally sound learning environment for children.

My son received a fantastic education during his kindergarten year at Andrus. There were also a fair amount of social activities to get the kids and parents involved.
