I had a pretty good experience at CHS. I was involved in the chorale and Steel Drum Band, both of which were super fun and provided me with lifelong friends. It was also a very academically challenging school. I was placed into the Honors and AP classes and it drove me to work harder and study smarter. Overall, I'd say my High School experience really prepared me for college. My teachers were kind and respectful, fellow students were always very welcoming and supportive of our diverse community, and the sporting events were always fun to attend! Once a Comet, Always a Comet.

Catonsville High School has prepared me for all the challenges I may face in college. The school offers many honors, GT, and AP with great teachers that not only teach you the class, but they get you involved and participating. I have also made many great friendships and relationships that not many high school's offer. The amount of extra curricular activities is great, and really allow everyone to find there place in the school. I wouldn't want to go to any other public school. Like we say "Once a Comet, Always a Comet"!
The population is incredibly diverse in terms of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds, which makes my experience there richer and more interesting. I have met a wide range of people there who have had immense impacts on the person I am today. The advanced classes are full of intelligent people which a large capacity for deep thinking and analysis. However, the standard-level classes have a lot of students who don't care about education and present a less-than-pleasant addition to my daily life; it feels divided between people who care and people who don't. My experience has been very different from the experiences of a lot of my peers. Overall, though, it is a very warm, accepting environment, and I never feel pressure to conform to some kind of popularity standard; there's no social hierarchy dividing student celebrities and losers. CHS has fueled my personal growth into who I am today.
