We are pleased academically which is the main reason our child continously attending the Catholic High School - Virginia Beach. For this reason I would recommend this school.
The Girls Varsity Basketball program is not that great. Their main focus is typically on specific player(s) to grow. If your child was not getting playing time in public school bring them here & if you are a type of parent who has time to be in coaches' face all the time, then your child will be awarded a "consolation" playing time. It makes a perfect place for your child and your family.
But if sports TRULY matters to your child while attending high school then you may want to consider exploring different school where she can grow, develop & be successful! Because she won't get it from here.
Currenty their Boys Varsity Basketball program is excellent- from players' development to training to coaching! This is the best time to join your athlete student!

I would definitely love more focus on music, and theatre at my school. However, I am overall happy at Catholic High School and feel like I will be prepared for my future once I graduate. Once, I started attending this school, I immediately felt welcomed and found no issue in building relationships and feeling encouraged to excel!
I enjoyed my time at CHS, but there were many things I wish had been different. Firstly: dress code. I legitimately enjoyed wearing a uniform, but as a teenage girl, it was degrading & violating to have adult men give me demerits for skirt length. Second, the arts need more funding. The majority of the school's funds to the athletics department, leaving arts students with crumbs. I'm currently a music major in college, & I was extremely ill-prepared for music classes. However, the academics in all other areas were great. I truly felt ready for college & immediately settled in. The transition into college was extremely smooth, and I do attribute a lot of that to CHS. There are dozens of great teachers who left a lasting impact on me (specifically in german & theology), & I am grateful for the help & guidance they gave me. Finally, there was never any legitimate bullying, but the social cliques were very obvious and brutal. Overall, I did enjoy my enjoy CHS. Just consider these things.
