Catholic Central High School Reviews
Rating 3.59 out of 5 51 reviews
All decisions are made between three people in the entire school. Parents and students have no input in anything, you're actually made to feel unwelcome. The teachers have not evolved in 30 years. The school will gladly take your donations therefore, all the focus is on alumni for just this reason. Students are treated like 4 year olds, instead of dealing with one or two for any small infractions, the entire class will suffer. Administration always takes the simplistic route of shut it all down. There are no clubs, activities, art or music. Sports: if you want to play, just make sure you kiss the ring of the coach or are related to them.
I had a pleasant high school experience overall, but moving campuses created a lot of distress in the class of 2023, whose high school experience was disorganized and had less opportunities of those in the past. Communication from the school to students also tended to be poor.
The community in my class is amazing, I love my classmates and have been with most of them from 7th grade. As far as academics, previously education had been a priority but now its all about funding. Teachers are cut and doubled up on different classes making them not able to teach fully to a helpful level for a student. Administration is terrible when handling disruptive students, as they repeatedly cause problems for the whole school time after time and haven't been expelled. There is a standard of behavior that comes with a private school, and Catholic high treats this as a public school would. Some administrators and teachers are disrespectful, as well as very unprofessional in their appearance and the way they towards situations and people. The food is pretty good, the lunch ladies are super kind and are always there to talk and gossip, and they make an effort to see how you're feeling everyday. In some cases the administration acts more like a child then the actual children.
