Coming from a giant public school, at first, Central was a shock. My class size is 38 and my smallest class is physics - I am one of four. However, this small, intimate environment makes a one-on-one learning approach possible. I am incredibly close with my teachers and I know that other than only wanting to teach, they care about me personally and want to see me succeed. I also know that I am being well prepared for college through my rigorous coursework. I've had an incredible high school experience thanks to my teachers, administrators, sports, and lifelong friends I have made.
I would like Catholic Central to regain it's values. Over time, losing enrollment numbers they have degraded their values and no longer seem to care as much about students or staff. I would love to see them revitalize their spirit, then I could be proud to be an alum.
All in all, Catholic Central has given me more than I can ever imagine during my four years. With it being small, students have no reason not to learn. Especially when it comes to things that are challenging ie Pre-Calc, Chemistry, and or AP Bio, teachers will give additional help whenever a student needs it. Another huge plus about Central is all of the connections you can make in the community such physicians, business owners, and local government officers. Not to mention, our annual Service Day that keeps us grounded in our true purpose as Christians.
Even though I'm excited to graduated and get out of high school, contrary to what I've said to everyone who asked, I will definitely miss Catholic Central. It was my home for more than half of my life and I'm so blessed to have attended. There's just something special about this place, something that can't be matched by any other school.
