Burlington Catholic Central(CC) is an amazing school! I hadn’t really heard much of CC in my grade and middle school life, until my mom started working at Saint Mary’s (now Burlington Catholic) middle school. One year into working at Saint Mary’s, my mom saw how wonderful and close knit the community is. She than sent my older brother to CC in the year of 2019, and he loved it! He would come home with a different story everyday, making me enticed and excited to go! When I got to CC I knew no one, but I very soon made friends. Catholic Central is a very welcoming community and I really enjoy my time here! I also look forward to meeting any new people!
After attending CC for all four years of high school I can say that it was very much a let down. The size of the school makes it very difficult to make true friends. The teachers are not that good. The math department did not prepare me well whatsoever and this cost me a lot in my final two years there. Mrs. Dean is a fantastic science teacher. She is one of the only few good teachers left. The staff/administration is so unorganized and has 0 support system for students and after hearing stories from friends that left CC and had reached out for help from staff it honestly saddens me that CC doesn’t look out more for students’ mental health. The grading system is screwed up aswell. Rather than awarding students that take difficult classes and work hard, the system awards students that slack off and only take easy classes for better GPA. The best thing here is the sports. They’re where I made the most friends and was the only part of this school that made me want to keep going here!
Catholic Central provides some of the best teachers involved in math and science. I personally doubled on science and math courses in two different years and now am taking AP classes in both subjects. They help you when needed and provide with some of the best education in Burlington, Wisconsin.
