Cathedral High School truly is a family. Regardless of who you are and where you come from, Cathedral is a place where everyone is welcomed with open arms. The teachers consistently make an effort to educate everyone in mind, body, and spirit, and they are not jus educators but friends. There are plenty of ways for students to get involved in extracurriculars and there's something for everybody! With programs like the Peer Mentoring program, Cathedral excels in its ability to transition teenagers into young adults by preparing them for college and beyond.

My educational experience was extraordinary. At every turn I found teachers willing to support me, answer my questions, and clarify issues. Albeit, I struggled my freshman year with making friends and socializing, but through theatre I could find people like me with similar interests and truly thrived. I excel at nearly all of my classes and the classes themselves are challenging in a strengthening way. However, Cathedral has a few downfalls. The school itself is quite old and although the older buildings provide character, they are in dire need of maintenance.
My name is Delaina Cannady and I am a Senior at Cathedral High School. I have enjoyed every second of my high school experience. Including the bad ones. Being a Freshman moving to a new town and a new school was extremely nerveracking. As my mom drove me up the hill for the first time there were students on each side of the road tossing toilet paper all through the streets. I walked into a big crowd of people I have never seen before. Little did I know I met my best friends in that crowd. My Sophomore year was a bit of a blur, and my Junior year was one of my most difficult. I had to deal with some adversity my family and I had to overcome and my Cathedral family helped me get through that. Cathedral also helped me to come into myself and find my passion for photography and my new found interest in criminal law. As my senior year approached I had enough experience to weigh out the pros and cons. The diversity was more than I ever had experience, but it can always improve.
