I absolutely love Cathedral because of the amazing faith based community and the numerous opportunities the students are given to succeed.
Great Experience. The teachers, facility, sports program and campus activities are amazing. The education your child will receive here will prepare them for college and beyond.
Great school, I feel like I'm very prepared for college. Teachers are great and care about the students, plenty of resources for any needs students may have. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to apply.
I think Cathedral is a good school and I wish it had more opportunities and classes and less prerequisites for those said classes
This is one of those amazing Catholic schools that stands out far above the rest. The community is incredibly supportive, faith-filled, welcoming and comfortable for all. Catholic/Christian values are not compromised and are consistently weaved in among all that happens through out the day. The administration successfully handles all the challenges facing our teenagers today. The faculty is full of alumni, parents of alumni, and teachers who are vested in the success and happiness of their students. The academics are rigorous but there are a variety of paths to choose from. The sports programs are excellent but you don't have to play a sport here to feel a part of the enormous school spirit. Students and faculty are proud and thankful to be at Cathedral. This school is an uplifting place for your kids to be each day. My daughters are thriving here; socially and academically and athletically. We couldn't be happier about where they are spending the majority of their time each day.
Cathedral is an amazing school, where it creates a sense of community. They accept everyone, creating a huge family. There are a million opportunities to become involved in campus, and the teachers are extremely kind. Teachers will go out of their way to meet with you one-on-one and give you the resources to succeed. Not only has Cathedral adequately prepared me for college, but it prepared me as a contributing member of society, ready to give back and serve those around me.
CCHS is an excellent school with strong academics, athletics, and other extracurriculars for students.
Cathedral provided me with the BEST high school experience. Everyone can find their place in the community and the faith based aspect of the school truly shapes the students into kind and faithful individuals. We had insane school spirit and so much fun in and outside of school. It was truly like the movies and I wouldn’t have traded it for the world.
This high school has been one of the best communities of my life. The student body is extremely inclusive, supportive, and exciting. Everyone comes together to build up each others self esteem. The sports programs at my high school are also at a very high level, making it such a great place to excel on the field or on the court. I played beach volleyball for my high school, and it was so much fun to be on such a supportive team. Cathedral Catholic High School also has such a great academic side to their school. The teachers are always there to assist you and make sure that you understand the material, which helps all students stay on the same page in their classes.
The academics are above-average with most teachers really caring about student success; however, a lot of teachers are very young and inexperienced; there is a high turnover with lots of new teachers each year. Sports is top-notch but extremely competitive to get onto a team. If you're not above average in your sport don't expect to play beyond freshman year. Socially the school is toxic. Entitled rich kids from Rancho Santa Fe literally ruin the school environment. It's all about what you own, what you drive, where you live. Extremely cliquey and at times seemed like I was living in the Mean Girls movie. The administration also pushes their conservative Catholic values too much.
I had a very positive experience with CCHS. I recently graduated and I believe the school gave me some of the best memories and opportunities I could have ever asked for. The top 3 favorite things about Cathedral that highlights their greatness is their academics, athletics, and school spirit. I was constantly challenged in the best way in all my classes and strived for the hardest classes I could take. I participated in varsity sports all my 4 years and that really helped me fall in love with my sport and create life long friendships and discover a new community. Finally, the school is very spirited with their community, faith, and peers. Their is a sense of pride when people call themselves a don, our school mascot. The beautiful campus and strong sense of faith also is a plus to the school.
CCHS is an amazing community with a multitude of academic, athletic, artistic, and mental health resources. My curiosity and work ethic have been encouraged by my supportive and passionate teachers at the school. I appreciate how all my teachers have emphasized personal growth and understanding of concepts over a test score. Moreover, school pride is unmatched, as we have the saying: once a Don, always a Don. Although the school is attempting to make improvements in this aspect, a downside of Cathedral is the lack of diversity. I wish there was more emphasis on cultural events and overall awareness of varying ethnic groups.
It has been a fun 4 years there. Everyone at the school is really nice and welcoming. The rotating blocks schedule is helpful at breaking up school days.
Cathedral is a great school that provides students with amazing opportunities to start their futures off right. The staff is so supportive and actually care for each student. There are so many extracurriculars to join along with over 50 types of sports. All of the classes are so intriguing too!
Cathedral has an absolutely amazing community, and the teachers care about your wellbeing in addition to your education!
Very grateful for the amazing experience at Cathedral Catholic. The teachers do an outstanding job preparing students for college. The administration works hard to create a well rounded high school experience including academics, athletics, arts and counseling.
Our daughter was in the learning center at Cathedral. This meant her classes were the same as the general student body but she had an additional class period for help and a liaison/ advocate for her with her teachers. She qualified with documented ADD and anxiety. The teachers were always kind, patient, professional, and made themselves available for the extra help she needed. (There were a few exceptions as always). It was not 100% smooth sailing, but there was always a staff member available to listen and try to help.
We are not Catholic, but she has become more religious from her lessons.
Best of all, over the four years she was a cheerleader, on the swim and dive teams, rowed on the crew team, and the sailing team. These kept her busy, fit, and engaged with other students.
The campus is beautiful, clean, extremely secure, and a healthy place to learn.
The resources at Cathedral are worth so much than the tuition. This is a great place for any high school student.

Cathedral Catholic is an excellent school with many different opportunities. To sports to junior mock trial, Cathedral is well rounded and you can succeed in whatever subject you are interested. They have an amazing STEM program. The classes are small and the teachers are hands on.
The students and teachers are well versed with advanced technology and the lunch menu is very high quality. Students and faculty are not always fully welcoming and the diversity is definitely average or maybe below.
Great school, they teach u a lot there, I am 14 years old and u learned a lot from going to this school
