Castor is actually quite great. The only thing I do not enjoy is that the academic scholars and winning club competitors do not get rewarded often. There's a parish banquet every year that gives us a framed certificate and a plaque for a 4.0 GPA. There's practically no reward for any national competitors in any clubs, there's little recognition of placing at state Literary Rally, and there's no reward for students who, say, earn a high ACT score/Leap score/Standardized test score. If Castor would only reward those academically-prosperous students more often, then this school would be nearly perfect.

Castor is a very great school; it is the one of the best in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the faculty and student population are very conservative and judgmental. I would not recommend this school to any LGBT families/kids, it is a very homophobic school. I've personally seen and experienced bullying, the students who excel academically are not awarded nearly enough, and it's a very harsh environment.
Like every school, things need to change. But, all in all, Castor is just one of those school you can't help but love. The teachers actually care, and the student body as a whole is really accepting.
