Being new to the Newburgh District my freshman year, Castle High School was very welcoming. The students were welcoming and so were the teachers. I remember on the first day of school of my freshman year, I was late and the office and my homeroom teacher were very understanding. Now that I am a Senior I am glad my parents decided to move to Newburgh. It was the best decision they made for me and my education has grew since being here. With every high school you will have teachers you don't like or people you don't like, that's just life. Something the school could fix is there sporting departments. They're sport teams are great, it's just the way students get to be number 1 or get to be the "favorite". The coaches need to work on being a team player and giving everyone a fair shot.
Castle High School is an incredibly welcoming learning environment. The teachers were mostly encouraging and they listened to my needs. However, Castle still needs to work on its diversity as most students are white Americans. Also, the Special needs department still needs work. There is a greater need for special education teachers as many of those students require one on one work. The students are also tucked into one wing where they aren’t as included in regular activities as they should be. Even though these areas need work, Castle has the best education of high schools in the entire southern Indiana. I feel like me and my classmates have learned how to become citizens, and how to work for what we need or want. Overall a very good school.
I really love the amount of support and assistance that the faculty provides! The school has a lot of school spirit and we celebrate even the smallest accomplishments. I love the school assemblies and the activities and performances that go on during them. I really can't think of a complaint! This school is truly amazing and gives each and every student the same opportunities regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, or social class!
