This school is unique. The teachers truly cared about students and set up the courses so that you feel you are truly using the content you learn. Varied expeditions offer opportunities for students with diverse interests to take a lead and make a change. The classes have focused on presentations, essay writing and group work in particular, and that way the classes are taught make it feel more like a group effort to learn, guided by the teacher, as opposed to a boring lecture where you have to memorize random stuff. The aspect of community is unrivaled at any other school, the school is diverse, and students of different backgrounds are put into the same classes and learn to lead together and become more accepting. There are many extracurriculars worth spending your time on, and the charismatic and exceptional principal, Derek Pierce, leads and creates an amazing atmosphere in the school.

I have attended Casco Bay High School all 4 years of high school and could not imagine going anywhere else. Casco Bay has been extremely supportive in my academic aspirations, as well as any other things that I wish to pursue. The community at Casco Bay is welcoming, unique, kind, understanding, resilient, and diverse. The faculty and administrators at Casco Bay truly care about the success of their students and work to create a relationship with the student body. Casco Bay also works very hard to support students through a extremely active student government and support of student activities. Casco Bay High School is one of a kind and a place I enjoy going to each day.
Casco Bay High School defies what I thought a high school could be. Casco Bay High School is an Expeditionary Learning school which means that students learn through in-depth projects based on important topics. I have learned so much about the world and how to make a difference in it. The teachers are supportive and go out of their way to help all students. Casco Bay High School values the community and strives to make it a safe and welcoming place. They constantly take student input into consideration by having monthly conversations between students and teachers about issues that face our school or the community.
