The teachers are nice and understanding. They really care about your learning and improving as a student and they want you to succeed. The counselors are always helpful and very resourceful! The staff as a whole are nice. The lunch, I believe, is about average. Most of the meals are enjoyable. There is a wide range of clubs and sports at this school. The academics are difficult for sure, but the teachers are always there to help and push you to do better. Overall this school is great, especially if you are interested in a STEM career. There are many opportunities to be involved in anything STEM at this school.

I currently attend George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Scoence and am in the 10th grade. During my freshman year, I was expecting a dramatic difference from middle school, along with being in another school. This school made that transition feel smooth, and welcoming. The teachers are focused genuinely on our success and preparation for College. They show this by staying after school for extra tutoring, supporting us as students with inspirational conversations and constant reassurance that we can achieve. The curriculum challenges our limits and knowledge but only makes us more knowledgeable. In my opinion this has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life!
George Washington Carver High School of Engineering and Science is a magnet, college prep high school located on Temple campus in Philadelphia. This school offers advanced classes for everyone which are based off of college courses themselves. Engineering and science are two extremely important fields that lack in African American workers. E&S opens up these studies to young scholars with STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fussed classes and programs. The high expectations, dedicated teachers, and students makes my school listed as one of the best in Philadelphia and keeps our successful reputation alive.
