Carthage High School Reviews
Rating 3.84 out of 5 121 reviews
Carthage High School is pretty average from what I have seen. It is full of very unique, interesting people. The staff is great. There have been many teachers over the years that have been there for me as someone that I can talk to or rely on. There are many clubs and activities to join. I participated in archery which I loved and band which I hated. I do wish we had more pride in our school. The pep assemblies are not very peppy. Our school tries to have a good time, I think the kids just aren't that into it which I think should be changed. The population of Carthage is fairly large for the area we live in which makes a pretty good sized class of 300 to 400 people. It's been a great journey being able to spend my life in Carthage, though sometimes I wish I had been able to attend a smaller school.
Carthage High School is a fantastic school if you're looking for a place with great teachers, diversity among students, academic programs, and extra curricular activities. Attending Carthage High School has given me so many awesome opportunities like participating in FBLA and eventually becoming the district president through their program. With most of the school population being Hispanic/ Latino there is so much diversity and culture. The athletic program is very successful, even winning the class 5 state football championship this past December. Carthage High School has amazing academic programs including PLTW health science and engineering, this will be my fourth year in the engineering program. Along with other great programs like multimedia, wood shop, mechanics, culinary, and so much more. I have been very blessed to attend Carthage High School and believe it is a wonderful school.
Carthage High School truly prepared me to go to college. They offer a variety of dual credit classes that assisted me in getting a head start in my college career. They offer many programs to help you find your career path. I participated in the Teach and Train Program and decided I want to become an elementary school teacher. I know there are medical and criminal classes to take as well! My counselors helped me in every way to ensure I was ready for college. I had the best experience possible playing softball here as well.
