This being my final year at Carter, it has made me reflect on my experience there. I like the cultural feeling of community that resides due to a large portion of the student body being Hispanic/Latino. There are few teachers at Carter who truly care about the education and well-being of students, and I am glad I got the opportunity to form great bonds with those teachers as they have supported me immensely. Carter has the potential to be one of the top schools in the district, however there are major downfalls. Students will complain about things they are upset about but will rarely take action to try and make a change, or in the case that they do try (such as the attempt to bring back Eagle Time through a petition), they give up too easily. If students begin taking a stronger stance and speak up about anything they think is unjust, and take it to district authorities higher than the school Principal, big changes can take place.

As far as being a student at Carter-Riverside High School, I absolutely love it. All teachers are understanding and always there to help, give advice, and be a helping friend even. At Carter-Riverside we have Eagle Time. This time is very convenient for all students. We have an hour for lunch, but of course nobody eats for an hour, so that extra time is used to go to classes and make up grades. Also Eagle Time is beneficial for teachers because it gives them more time to plan assignments for classes and grade. Some students can't stay after school for meeting and tutoring so Eagle Time also comes falls into place as being very helpful. Carter-Riverside is a very friendly environment. There's rarely any drama or violence whatsoever. Something that I'd probably change about Carter-Riverside High School is nothing honestly. I never have problems with anything and I honestly actually look forward to coming to school!
Everyone in carter has their own little groups. Sure that may look like a downside, but, finding your own group that you click with just makes the high school experience here at Carter overall amazing. I’ve never been at loss of friends or even just left out, I’ve always found my own group and expanded it out to incoming freshman who may be scared. Overall, Carter is an amazing place with an amazing support system of people.
