One of the best School District in Texas. One mascot for the whole district. School pride starts in Elementary school level and continues throughout High School. Wonderful Teachers and Staff. Top rated athletes. Several AP Classes and a few duel classes. Lots of State Titles in every sport except Softball. Great Robotics, STEM,Debate, Art & Theater Department. Gifted and Talented program is excellent. Lots of Student clubs, community activities to join. Some cons would be having to shuffle between High and Senior High Schools( not all classes available at one school). Not enough parking spaces for students at Senior High. Very competitive school district both academically and athletically. Which adds a lot of pressure and stress on the students. Bullying issues aren’t taken seriously. Victims told to walk away or ignored them. No really punishment for the bullies. Hopefully that will change soon.
What I liked most about Carroll Senior High School were the staff, counselors, and teachers who were ready to help us students whenever we had questions or problems relating to school, college, or our personal lives. Everybody was incredibly welcoming and supportive of us while making sure we were ready to handle life at college and this school has given me countless memories that I'll always cherish and remember. The one thing I think could use some improvement however was the facilities as I would often times find myself thinking their quality wasn't as adequate as I had hopes, such as the sink taps. But other than that, everything Carroll Senior High School offered went above and beyond what I had expected.
Overall, I think Carroll is a great school district that helps set students up for success later in life. The school has excellent sports programs and arts programs and the district has great school pride. There are so many clubs and activities that you can be a part of at Carroll. The weekly Friday night football games are always fun. As for the academics, Carroll excels in this field as well. Carroll offers almost all AP classes and credits, offers SAT/ACT help, and the teachers are very helpful most of the time. Where Carroll struggles is diversity and bullying. The school has had many instances of bullying or racism and the school hasn't punished the bullies or done anything to change the school. Another struggle is that since the sports and academics are so strong at Carroll they're both very competitive, stressful, and put too much pressure on high school kids. Even though Carroll has its issues I think it is a great school district and it helps set students up for success.
