My time at Carrboro High School was amazing and the school fosters an environment for learning academically as well as open-mindedness. The small size of the school and exceptional teachers have allowed Carrboro academic success (almost as high as others in the district) without the toxic competitive environment that the other high schools. It also comparatively benefits from its relatively new age (a little over 10 years old) which means it is also physically a great modern space full of windows and light. Also, Carrboro has some amazing teachers that can actually get people interested in their subject and teach important ideas. I have been forced to change my view of the world and my mindset by multiple teachers which I can not thank them enough for. While not every teacher is amazing, Carrboro high school has managed to collect a solid core group of teachers that go above and beyond. The recent change in principal seems to be a promising fix to the one major flaw of the school.

Carrboro High School offers good classes and really pushes its students academically through programs like the Academy of International Studies. I feel that most of the teachers and faculty at Carrboro High are supportive of their students and do everything in their power to prepare them for their future. The school is also extremely diverse, but one of its biggest problems is there is a disconnect between different racial or ethnic groups of students. As most AP classes are white-dominated, other students don't often mix with them.
Love the school! It was super inclusive due to the small size and most teachers really care about their students. Any bad teacher is quickly run off by angry students who make their voice heard. There are many opportunities given for students to achieve the future they want.

However, the administration, specifically the principal, undermines some of the values of the school. She is not involved with the students and often ignores their opinion. Many teachers also, in secret, dislike her aggressive and off-putting style. Instead of fostering the amazing Carrboro community she is working to destroy it and has no trust in any students, despite most never having done anything wrong.
