Carrabassett Valley Academy Reviews

CVA is everything I have wanted and more. If I had to choose my very favorite aspect of it, I would have to say the sense of community. Carrabassett Valley is a small town, and I love that. I feel confident in saying I could ask almost anyone for a favor and they would do it willingly and be there for me. I feel like I have a personal experience with every single student and staff member at CVA and I love that!
If your child is serious about taking their skiing to the next level, CVA is the place. Year-round training poises athletes to reach their goals. Prior to exploring CVA, it was rumored to have sub-par academics. That is absolutely NOT the case. Teachers are bright and engaged to creatively allow students to learn and grow even with a busy travel schedule for training and competitions. They offer summer school programs to get a jump on the upcoming year for science labs and provide things like customized YouTube videos to convey complex material.
I love how the school is on the access road to mountain. The community and staff is great, I have never truly disliked a teacher that I have had at CVA. The community is like no other, almost like a family. Even if you think you don’t know anything about someone, chances are you might know a little something. Athletics can be very challenging but it’s a great place to get into being active. One of the bigger down sides of CVA is that they only offer competitive skiing or snowboarding and no other sports. Overall I had a pretty great experience at CVA and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
