This school embodies the typical white suburban high school. It is very centered around certain sports, while other sports are clearly underfunded or neglected. Additionally, the school budget is constantly stretched tight, which has led to some clubs and classes being canceled. However, despite these shortcomings, Carmel High School is not that bad. Excluding a few people, most of the teachers that I’ve had seemed motivated in their jobs and wanted the best for their students. Carmel High School was also in multiple news sources for being respectful to a special needs kid during his graduation. Overall, I think this school is pretty nice.

Carmel High School has positively made a huge impact in my life based on how I present myself and how I see others. Carmel High School is filled with an amplitude of opportunities to give young students with bright futures. The administration all work very hard to help guide students and give them the best aid they can. CHS is filled with an abundance of clubs and afterschool activities to become involved in which is an aspect I really like about my school. It does not matter what you're into - whether it be robots, math, or cancer awareness - CHS has some type of club that fits your needs. The guidance counselors are very present in helping all students and being active in their academic life. In addition, the guidance counselors are especially proactive in the juniors and seniors life pertaining on what they would like to pursue after highs school. In final analysis, Carmel High School is a good school that teaches students life long lessons and good morals.
I would like to see better counselors for the students, they are not very involved or helpful. Teachers are great at this school, and I believe that they should be given more lenience in the way they teach where testing is not the only measure of improvement or learning. The classes I took that had a more collaborative project and activity based learning style were some of the best classes I have taken. Administration should also only keep teachers who are proven to be good and actually care about student sucess then ones who hate their job and are cranky with students all the time, it really does show when a teacher doesn't care.
