Carlmont High School is a pretty good school. Academically, I think it is a great place with high standards and plenty of opportunities to learn. The campus itself is also pretty cool, although the walk from one end of the campus to the other is pretty long. It's a fairly diverse place too! The teachers are reasonable for the most part, I've gotten fairly lucky with teachers. I think that CHS has definitely prepared me and my peers for college. The college and career center has lots of resources for college. The clubs and activities are all really inclusive!
Carlmont High School is a high school located in Belmont, California. Through my 3.5 years there, I have received an adequate education. The pros of Carlmont High School are that most teachers are beyond qualified and do a stellar job teaching their specialized subjects. It feels like the teachers care about the students. The cons are that we live in the Bay Area, so the school is competitive. This competitiveness can impact a student's success because the competition can be highly toxic and feel isolating at times. I believe Carlmont High School prepares you exceptionally well for college if you are willing to challenge yourself. My senior peers were admitted to prestigious colleges to pursue higher education.
Carlmont offers many opportunities for every type of student. Academic wise, Carlmont offers many AP and honors classes for those wanting more of a challenge. The school even has unique courses only found at Carlmont! Regarding the teachers, it is apparent all want the students to succeed, however, like any school, not all teachers are the best at teaching the material and keeping the students engaged. Overall, Carlmont has a good school culture, strong academics, and plenty of support when needed.
