There are many great opportunities for extra-curricular activities at Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School. This school offers all high school sports for eighth graders and ninth graders, while still allowing the ninth grade students to participate in the higher level high school teams like JV and Varsity. However, each one of these sports requires a high level of commitment so that it would be almost impossible to participate in more than one sport during that season. This can be very beneficial, though, because it allows the student to specialize in that one sport with great coaches who will help them succeed. Aside from just sports, this school has many other educational extra-curricular activities as well. There are clubs to award you for being on honors role, clubs for business skills, medical skills, woodworking skills, and so much more that will all help a student to get better at something that they love doing, with little to no cost. Overall, Cardinal Heights offers many extra-curricular opportunities for all types of students.

The teaching staff at Cardinal Heights Upper Middle school is a great considering the quality, unique teaching styles, knowledge, interest in students, and consistency in grading. The overall quality of these teachers is outstanding, as I have never had a teacher in this school that couldn't meet the expectations of their job. However, many staff members have different teaching methods and styles than one another; some teachers use real-world examples, some use notes, and some give lectures to get their information out to their students. This is a positive aspect, though, as it creates a diverse environment within the school day so that students don't get bored. Also, almost every teacher at Cardinal Heights has knowledge in more than just their subject, giving students a chance to ask about any of their inquiries so that they can make important connections during that class time. Besides the many academic skills of these teachers, they have great personalities with a genuine interest for their students, no matter how annoying they may be at times. Lastly, the teachers of Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School are consistent in their grading so that each one of their students can have the same chance of success as the person next to them. Overall, Cardinal Heights Upper Middle School is a great school with brilliant teachers who care.
The health and safety of Cardinal Heights Upper Middle school is great, considering special security measures, bullying prevention, and medical safety options. In this school, there is a police officer on school grounds at all times during school hours. He helps to keep fights from happening in the school, and make sure no dangerous figure comes into the school. Along with the one police officer, there is also a full police team that randomly carries out locker drug tests with their dogs so that this school can be as safe as possible. Besides physical safety, there is usually a lot of mental bullying that can affect a student's academic success. However, this is no longer an issue at Cardinal Heights due to the great counselors and proactive student advisers who prevent bullying before it can even happen. Lastly, there is a great school nurse at Cardinal Heights along with a very responsive code blue team who aid in medical emergencies. With all of these programs and teachers, Cardinal Heights has become a safe place in which parents aren't worried about sending their children.
