My experience at Capital high school overall has been fantastic! But I am a very involved student being apart of leadership class, yearbook editor, a member of the cheerleading team, and Keyclub. But for some of my other peers that aren't as active in activities in that sort of theme, they often times get swept under the rug and not noticed or recognized for their other achievements. For example one of my friends is a dancer and has gone to the highest leveled competition that is offered, yet the football teams scrimmages get more publicity and recognition.

Capital High School has great staff and teachers there to help with academics in and outside of class! Teachers really find bonds with the students and genuinely want students to grow. Capital High School also has one of the best math departments out of the four different high schools I have been to! Capital High School also has a vast variety of clubs and the drama program at Capital High School has great support from community and teachers and staff. The only downside to Capital High School is that they do not offer AP classes but rather IB classes. This sort of limited me as a new student who was used to the AP classes, stunting my growth and forcing me to adapt.
One thing that has always stood out to me about Capital High School is its sense of community. Even with its individual sports, clubs, and classes, I have never witnessed the judgement of a social hierarchy. There is no popularity requirement to join the football team, and no shame in playing in the marching band. Friend groups do not define themselves by the interests of the group as everyone has personalized interests and hobbies of their own. I have seen more acceptance and individuality at Capital High School than anywhere else, and for that I thank my teachers, administrators, and peers.
