The amount of school spirit here is unlike anything I've ever seen, and many of the teachers have become not just educators to me, but role models and confidants who I trust as friends. There's plenty of fun dances, faires, and activities to partake in, usually at least a couple a month. There's plenty of information about both working and attending college that's made available to students from freshman year on, and the principal has a personal vendetta to get all the upperclassmen to sign up for CLEP so we can save as much money attending university as we can. The only thing I would dock is the cafeteria food, but that's a very minor issue given the big picture. Plus, there's something like five vending machines on campus with universal $1 prices, so going hungry is never a worry anyway. I wouldn't have wanted to spend my high school years anywhere other than Capo.

I generally enjoyed my time at Capo Valley High School. I sang, swam, and played water polo my three years there. I transferred in as a Sophomore after completing my Freshman year out of state. I was able to have a friend group quickly while playing Water Polo, which was nice because being from out of state I didn't have any friends going into this school. I liked all my classes and teachers except for my counselor. I was highly involved with the science department at my previous school and wished to continue down that route but my counselor wouldn't let me take two science classes at once which meant because of the different class load set up at my previous school I had to retake both of the courses putting me behind for my sciences and unable to take advanced science classes my later years of high school- this was highly disappointing. Other than that High School was entertaining and I learned a lot along the way.
This school is a beacon of hope for the public education system. Most of my teachers go over the top to ensure each student has the best learning environment possible, and the principal continually reaches out to the student body to run the school based on the students’ needs. Needless to say I am proud to be a cougar!
However, I have mainly taken AP courses at this school and I have heard less than happy comments about many of the non AP course teachers from my peers.
