Canyon’s a great place! The staff says it’s like one big family there and they’re totally right. Everyone is very friendly and mature. The cafeteria could, of course, always do better. Besides the food, I believe Canyon is the single best school in our district. It’s a very inspiring place with unique teachers and a huge budget. I mean, the digital art room has multiple Cintiqs and they’re working on a new computer lab for one single course. Ever since I came to Canyon, I have a lot more motivation than I did in middle school. I’m excited to see what these next four years will bring me.

Canyon High School has the best academics in the district. The diversity is greta as well as the teachers. However, ever since the Saugus shooting (in my district) my peers and I have struggled to feel safe at the school. Before as well as prior to the shooting, there has been multiple threats to our school. We have been on lockdown multiple times at school that it has become the norm. While there is not much the administration can do without getting metal detectors as well as monitor the students more (which parents and the community will probably never sign off for), there will always ways around this protection. Other than the concern of safety, the teachers and academic advisors are always on top of the students. Due to our open environment with leadership as well as the wellness center, there is no bullying on campus. Everyone is comfortable in their own skin and will stand up for each other as a family.
Canyon is a great school! However, if sports matter to you, sports are not the best. Admin is not amazing because they do not listen to students. But most teachers are great and performing arts are also great. Our track team is amazing though.
