Good school with good teachers that are always trying to help the students understand. The teachers are always looking in the students best interest and focusing their attention on understanding the material and then applying the knowledge.
I loved all the teachers, the student body environment wasn’t the best but I eventually found a good group of friends that I spent my high school career with.
Cameron High School was a great place to grow up. The teachers and staff are very helpful and listen to your problems. They want everyone to succeed. The school wants all the students to be involved in something. It is a goal to the teachers that every student has some activity they can be a part of. There is a great feeling of community and togetherness. Something I would change would be the time of day that announcements are done. They are given when half of the school is having lunch, which I'm sure leads to that population of the school not hearing anything that is going on. Because of that, it is hard for everyone to be on the same page with dates and times, and it can be confusing. Even for the staff. Overall, there is no where else I would have rather completed my first twelve years of school. It's been a wonderful time.
The school has a wide variety of after school programs, and almost all of them have ended up going to state. In the four years that I have gone to Cameron High School, our Forensics Team, Basketball Team, Volleyball Team, Track and Field, Wrestling Team, Dance Team and even our Golf Team have gone to state at least once if not multiply times. This is mostly due to the fantastic athletes and coaches.
All of our teachers really seem to care about their students and there ability to learn as much as they can. Grading is a little different from one teacher to another, but it's all about personal preference. All of our teacher love to get involved with school activities weather it's a dress up day or if it's school wide Olympics. The teachers at Cameron High School are also very passionate about teaching, they love to make an impression on students and really get them involved.
Overall the teachers are mostly nice and all the classes are pretty easy but it's a very small school so it's not very fun. Activities don't get a big turn out like dances and things like that. Also, everyone favors the athletes but thats normal at every school. It doesn't make it any less annoying though.
School has been a lot of fun, especially the past four years of high school. There are a lot of fun clubs and activities to be involved in and everyone is usually very welcoming. There have been some times where I've come home from school and completely upset with a teacher, but I think every student gets that sometime during their school years.
Cameron is a very good school. The community passed a referendum to add onto the school and for athletic facility replacement. This has all happened over the past 18 months. Very nice. I don't have any bad things to say about the school. It's still a small school and they are limited in offering some of the things that larger schools can offer, but really not complaints.
Personally, my high school experience has been tremendous so far. I've made some friends for life, and been apart of some school activities that I will cherish for a long time. Through boy scouts and some after school activities, i've gotten to know some wonderful people that I wouldn't of had the chance to get to know otherwise. The teachers are absolutely amazing and full of enthusiasm. They all really know their stuff, as well as participate in all of the school activities along us. One of our teachers ever won the teacher of the year award for the state of wisconsin. One thing I really believe in, is that the teachers make the school what it is. I believe Cameron High School is one of the best schools in the area with some of the greatest teachers a student could know. Especially now that the school has gone through the referendum. The only downside to this school, is "the squad". That's what they call themselves, they're just a pesky group of students. However, all of the upside dramatically overweight that one downside.
Only had trouble with one teacher.
It's your typical community college. I haven't had a problem except with one professor. The rest have been really great. People are friendly and everyone's willing to help.
The principle and guidance counselor are very involved in what's going on in and out of classrooms. But, although there is a strict anti bullying and strict dress code, some people get away with breaking those rules.
Although Cameron doesn't have a very diverse society, they accept anyone who enters.
Cameron offers a ton of extracurricular activities for all types of people. Wheat her your into sports or into books or both, there's something for you.
The Cameron School District pushes their students to be the best that they can be. Each teacher teaches differently which better prepares students for college and later life.
Most students that attend Cameron are involved in some type of sport. Although this is the case, the athletic facilities are not the best. Cameron just pasted a new referendum which includes all new athletic facilities.
I moved to Cameron my sophomore year in high school, and up until then I only attended Cumberland schools. My first day of school in Cameron was great, but over time I missed my old life and friends, and often wished to return back to Cumberland. If I could do it all over again, I would choose to attend Cameron tho because it has taught me and shaped me into who I am today.
