Cambridge Rindge & Latin School Reviews
Rating 4.15 out of 5 352 reviews
Cambridge Rindge and Latin School is a good public school with a few flaws. The schedule plans four classes a day, each 85min. This enables the students to devote more effort to each class, and participate more fully. The school is incredibly diverse and offers a large range of courses. Even classes at universities. However, some courses provided by the school, especially the required courses such as math, English, and American history can be referred to as fluctuating. The level and amount of knowledge you learn are dependent on your luck, and what teacher you were assigned.
The school's clubs and extracurricular activities are very rich. No matter you are a humanities student or a STEM student, you can find your interest in the school. Not only academically, but also in clubs such as D&D. Some clubs have also made great achievements in the past. The resources it provides are also sent through emails. However, the communication system of the school isn't efficient.

PART 1: If you are a parent considering CRLS and comparing it to neighboring schools such as BB&N I urge you to read through these reviews! CRLS offers notable arts programs and rigorous AP courses. The diversity in this school is great, with countless languages, and religions represented in our large student body. It is important to note though, that with this diversity comes challenges. Occasional instances of microaggressions, racism, and lack of forethought from administrators are some of the flaws here. The socio-economic differences are apparent, and friend groups while mainly diverse, are skewed more or less wealthy. We are politically active and kind, but like many high schools, bullying and online drama still exists. Note that pep-rally and football culture is low. Knowing the culture at places such as BB&N I am sure that Rindge is more accepting, but the academics and opportunities take more time to really take advantage of. Rindge has a strong relationship with Harvard.
CRLS is a big high school with an amazing library and after school clubs. The school itself is neighbors with Harvard College and MIT and partners with the college’s for great extracurricular learning opportunities. I started in 2019 and when covid hit halfway through my freshman year our schools closed and we went remote. Politics unfortunately got in the way of my education and the teachers union refused to work because they did not feel “safe”. I am in my senior year and things are pretty much back to normal, I will have had about 1 1/2 years of normal (ish) schooling when I graduate this summer. I did enjoy my experience with that.
