Everyone is extremely nice. I was new this year and even throughout covid I was welcomed with open arms and was happily accepte.
At Cambridge Junior Senior high school we have a really well organized and nice school. I love to play sports and our football team is great because it is like a traditional and we have won two state titles in the last 5 years.
There are many opportunities for students and teachers do everything they can to help their students.
Cambridge high school had many problems including racism, antisemitism, and drugs. Some of the teachers were nice but many did care very much about the students. The teachers taught to the test and did not promote independent thinking. It seemed that the school was very football oriented and did not support the other sports nearly as much.
It was just as the rating said it was average I enjoyed my time there as a football player but other then that everything was subpar the facilities are very underwhelming as the only new parts to the building are the lockerroom and the elementary gym. Other then that everything is outdated and the last update would have been the science wing done when my mom was in school In 96
High school is always going to be sort of a transition period getting you ready for college. Overall, I thought my school was pretty good. It doesn't have harsh cliques or cruel queen bees like you see in the movies. Most of the teachers and students here are genuine and do their best. I love my friends that I met through drama club and volleyball, and I wouldn't change those wonderful experiences with them for anything.
The teachers are always there for students who need help if the student is putting in effort. If the student doesn't care, the teacher might eventually give up on said student, but they work hard to assist in any way they can. Some classes are extremely boring, but the teachers are mostly easy to get along with.
Not enough interest in the arts, just sports.
It really just depends on the teacher & their ways
The reason why i love this school is the great teaching staff. They're all personable and great at what they do. Quite honestly, id like to have another year to take all of the classes that I'm interested in. Being in BOCES really cuts down on the amount of classes i can take, but it was the right move nevertheless. In drama club there's lots of parent involvement. As far as PTO's go, ive never really noticed that they exist but that doesn't mean they aren't doing anything.
I've always felt the teachers at Cambridge are the best and that's why i want to be one of them some day. the only negative is real world examples of how to use our math and English skills. but i'm in welding II at BOCES and take my math and English courses there so i don't know how the senior English and math teachers incorporate that element.
as a general rule they are decent
don't always get a decent support system
There are numerous chances to become involved.
The teachers at Cambridge Central are great. They challenge you and they truly care that you are learning the material rather than just memorizing it to get by. The school and the classrooms are small. Teachers know you on a first name basis and you are easily able to gain a strong relationship with them.
This school holds sports and fitness at high standards. Football is extremely important to the institution, there are many different options for physical education classes, and there are a ton of different opportunities to get involved in sports and clubs.
The food was surprisingly very good. I found myself buying double lunch almost every day because you always want more. They are also always open for suggestions which is very nice.
