I don´t think my school really stands out as being amazing. There are definitely small things that make it amazing but then there are things that make it the opposite. It has pros and cons like a normal school but they pretty much equal each other making it "average".
I liked that the teachers are able to help each student out if you put in the effort to ask questions.
During my years at Cambridge I always felt welcomed and cared for by all the staff. All the teachers their, do an amazing job at teaching their students and caring for them. I would like to see the heating system change.
Attending Cambridge-Isanti High School was an interesting experience, in many ways I felt that academically, the school wasn't well equipped to teach at a high level and those that craved that would end up lacking what they need. However, the teachers would always do their best to assist students when asked. Just like any school, Cambridge-Isanti High School has its flaws, but it certainly isn't a terrible place to learn.
It was a public school so there were opportunities to make many memories and meet many people. I did not like that there were so many drugs running around the school. Otherwise it was a very productive environment. A few teachers were questionable but most were very polite and knew what they were teaching and how to teach it in a way most kids could understand. The college preparedness I would say be very little. They make you sign for dollars for scholars but that doesn't do much for many kids. It was a good experience overall and could use more funding.
The education was horrible. I think that there only a few good teachers and there was a big drug problem among the student body. The bathroom next to the cafeteria is closed most of the time because of drug use.
I enjoyed a lot about high school, but it's very apparent that this school district is underfunded. Most of the teachers are have only the best intentions. The culture of the school is very toxic. The is no diversity, and as a result, racism runs rampant. Homophobia also is just a norm. The faculty is doing there best with the resources they are given.
Cambridge is a very good school, but it can be out of control sometimes. I wouldn't say it's the teachers fault but sometimes it is hard to focus
As a student I had a ton of fun with all of my friends. One thing that I loved was all the extra curricular activities and extra classes that are available like guitar, painting and sculpture. One thing that I would love to see change is the policy with E-Cigs and who is punished for their actions. Our school could not control the problem and ended up shutting down all bathrooms in the high school, punishing everyone not only the people at fault.
I absolutely hated this school. The teachers couldn't care less about you and the counselors are even worse. I didn't learn anything that helped me in life or college here. The only thing moderately ok is the music department. Do not send your kids here. Almost all the students are depressed and it's because of the school. It has a terrible bullying problem that the administration does nothing about and there is constant drug use going on in the bathrooms and parking lot. The school itself is full of mold and leaky ceiling tiles, but they put all their money into athletics instead of fixing these issues.
My experience at Cambridge-Isanti High School has been good so far with me current participating in there theatre program. This program gives me the chance to do what I love well also getting a college education.
Teachers are outstanding at their jobs with teaching students. The career advisers and guidance counselors are extremely helpful. However, dealing with some of the administration could be frustrating at times (i.e. only hearing one side of story and not even considering the other). Restrooms are usually shutdown due to leaks and clogging. What our school excels at though is our theater department and Model UN. Both have made it to state multiple times, but have received no recognition for it despite our football team having pep rallies and never making it to state ever. I feel this reflects on the culture of the school and what we [the students and staff] really value.
The students are generally bad, and the majority of the staff and student body is much more focused on sports to give the arts any attention. Many teacher, however, are very passionate and incredible people.
I think the school needs to allow for a couple of weeks more of school because it feels like both the staff and students are constantly scrambling to keep up with everything, which causes for a much more stressful environment.
Overall, Cambridge-Isanti High School is a great school! I have learned so much, and I’m only a sophomore! The teachers are fantastic, and care so much about their students! They want us to learn! However, the reason I gave it four stars and not five is because on occasion I run into the students that aren’t very kind to others. There is bullying in our school, and I could never give a school five stars that has bullying.
I arrived at the high school my junior year and plan to graduate in 2020. I like their wide variety of college classes, but their lack of opportunities and resources in the art department are severely lacking. I would not recommend this school to anyone who sees themselves with a career path in art or design. Other than that shortcoming the staff is very involved with the students and community.
Overall a great experience here in cambridge mn. The teachers were wonderful and cared about your education and wanted you to thrive. They have college in the schools that prepares young students on what was ahead in their future and strive to push students to their best future. However the clubs and extracurricular activities lacked in variety leaving not all departments of this school up to the best possible standards.
