I went to Camas High School for my sophomore through senior year and I loved it. They have great sports, I played varsity golf for 3 years, a great community, and overall great teachers. The teachers are willing to put in the extra time in order to help their students achieve their goals, and the staff/administration was almost always friendly. The school environment was overall perfect! If I had to change anything about Camas High School it would be the diversity. Granted, you can't make students go to a different school to get diversity changes, but I think that if there was more diversity the atmosphere would change and it would make it a little better. There was always 1 or 2 cliques in each grade and I think this is because of diversity. At Camas High School if you weren't in 1 of the cliques then one could feel like an outsider, and I believe that more diversity can change that.

Camas High School is very welcoming and friendly. The teachers are all kind, understanding, and helpful, especially when it comes to homework help. Most of the students are nice as well. I have made many friends at this school. The one thing I would change is the school schedule. In previous years, school started at 7:40 and ended at 2:10. Now this year, school starts at 8:40 and ends at 3:20. It is nice to sleep in, but sports get pushed back and end around 6pm instead of 5pm. Even though this is an one hour difference, it makes all the difference when it comes to dinner and homework. Also, the classes end on odd times. For example, for first period, class ends at 9:33pm. This makes memorizing the schedule very difficult. Also, a new thing this year is a study period called Maker Time. For some students, it is nice for clubs and homework help, but for other students, it is a waste of time. All in all, Camas High School is awesome, but there needs to be some major changes.
It's a great high school especially when compared to others in the area. The teachers genuinely care about their students and the academics are rigorous and well-taught. There are a variety of different classes to take and many AP options as well. The school funds and supports sports very well, and there are many other club options.
Most of the administration recently changed, and they're not bad. However, I preferred the old admin. The only real problem I have with Camas is the terrible traffic to and from school, but there's nothing to do about it.
