With all that makes it so unique and charming, the first thing that springs to mind about CAM is how small it is; this is both it's greatest strength and it's biggest weakness. With it's small class-size, CAM has a great lack of opportunities outside of its core academic curriculum; CAM does not offer a great variety of clubs, a wide choice of electives, or any sport whatsoever. However, with the smallness also comes familiarity; during my eight years at there, the entire class has grown almost as close as family. My classmates have given me nothing but joy and support, and I've made some lifelong friends. Overall, CAM's shortcomings are overcome by everything else it offers. By spending my high school years there, I've been able to soar higher academically and forge closer bonds than any other school I could have attended; I wouldn't trade my time there for any other school.
I am currently a high school senior and I have attended CAM since fifth grade. It was great and I couldn't see myself at any other school until freshman year. Eighth grade really was the peak, the last good year. It's not diverse, there's not choice of classes so you don't get to try new courses or electives, and it's so incredibly small that my social skills have been destroyed. Most people there aren't very nice either, and it's a very clique-y school in general. Very sad; it started as a fantastic school but really went downhill in the past few years.
I first enrolled in CAM Academy for my sophomore year of high school. Everyone I met was really nice I made new friends fast. As a shy person, I thought a smaller school would suit me better than a high school that was basically its own city. Everyone knows everyone at CAM; it's a very close-knit community. However, I had a teacher who gave us way too much homework, that was very difficult. She even claimed that she liked to see us suffer. Luckily, she left CAM this year. Other than that, I really liked all of my teachers at CAM. They were helpful, funny, and taught the material pretty well.
